Stephen Kovacevich joins Martha Argerich & Friends Festival in Lucerne performing Berg’s Piano Sonata Op.1 and Bartok’s Out of Doors No. 4 The Night’s Music on 14^th of January 2025 accompanied by a film of the same title by Stephanie Argerich at the renowned KKL-Luzern. Launched in 2022 by the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Le Piano Symphonique is “a festival focused on the piano and its relation to the symphonic sound world”.

Legendary pianist Stephen Kovacevich returns to China for a series of recitals and masterclasses this month. Stephen Kovacevich will perform a programme of late works by Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms in Chengdu City Concert Hall on Dec.8^th, Shenzhen Mountain View Theatre on Dec.13th and Guangzhou Opera House on Dec.15th.

“The simple unity of this recital programme is the exploration of what Beethoven and Schubert – two of the greatest composers who have been the closest to me throughout my life – share in their late or last major works.”

Distinguished pianist Stephen Kovacevich  picks up his baton and returns to work as conductor and pianist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra on 22nd of November at the Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb.  Stephen Kovacevich will lead the orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No 6 “Pastoral” as well as Wagner’s Siegfried’s idyll while returning between the two orchestral works to his beloved Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 24 in c-minor which he will play/direct.

Stephen Kovacevich  joins in ever-illuminating Martha Argerich Festival in Hamburg this summer. Kovacevich will appear at Elbphilharmonie Kleiner Saal  on June 28^th playing Berg’s Sonata Op.1. A passionate advocate for Berg, Stephen Kovacevich is renowned for his interpretation of the Sonata: “He endowed the music with a sense of fluid movement that sometimes turned into cadence, and Berg could be heard confronting his own role in the 20th century with Kovacevich on piano as a vehicle to develop it. He stretched the ten minutes into an eternity and held the final resolution, the first and only resolution of the Sonata, as if he never wanted it to end”.

Stephen Kovacevich begins the new year with the performance of Mozart Piano Concerto No 24 with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra  under the baton’s of the orchestra’s music director Mo Nayden Todorov. Their concert takes place on 25^th of January at Bulgaria Concert Hall  in Sofia with the programme also featuring Beethoven Symphony No 5 in c-minor.

Celebrated pianist Stephen Kovacevich  returns to his native California to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C-Minor with the Pacific Symphony  under the baton of the Orchestra’s music director Carl St.Clair. Stephen Kovacevich joins distinguished forces in a duo with Martha Argerich as part of their special chamber music concert at the Philharmonie de Paris  on 15^th of October. The evening dedicated to music by Schumann, Beethoven and Debussy also features young upcoming musicians  cellist Edgar Moreau and violinist Geza Hosszu-Legocky. Debussy’s works for two pianos Lindaraja and En blanc et noir conclude the programme with the legendary artists’ joint performance at Grande salle Pierre Boulez.
