Yaroslav Shemet conducts Wagner at the Baltic Opera Festival

Yaroslav Shemet brings Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer directed by Tomasz Konieczny to this year’s Baltic Opera Festival. The performance involving an international cast as well as the orchestra, chorus and dancers of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk  takes place on 24th of July at the Forest Opera in Sopot  historically “renowned for prestigious events including Wagner Festivals, earning the esteemed title of the “Bayreuth of the North” . Yaroslav Shemet conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 6

Following successful performances of Nos 1, 4 and 9 as part of Mahler’s symphony cycle with the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, Yaroslav Shemet conducts Symphony No. 6 “Tragic” in Katowice this month. Shemet has been consistently building a loyal audience following of his classical music concerts with the transformed orchestra since he became its youngest music director in 2021, and his appearance on May 24th is another much awaited event at Filharmonia Śląska.

Artist Management Worldwide is delighted to welcome Ukrainian-Polish conductor Yaroslav Shemet to its roster

We are proud to announce Ukrainian-Polish conductor Yaroslav Shemet joining Artist Management Worldwide for general management. At 28, Yaroslav Shemet holds the position of Artistic Director with the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and General Music Director of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk. After completing his studies at the special talent conducting class at the Kharkiv Conservatory, exceptionally gifted Yaroslav Shemet was conducting orchestras in Europe and Asia from a young age. Following further conducting training in Poznań and Vienna, he worked as assistant conductor with Oksana Lyniv at the Youth Orchestra of Ukraine, guest conductor at Lviv Opera and Odesa Opera, chief conductor of the Lviv International Symphony Orchestra and first guest conductor of the Neue Philharmonie in Hamburg. Yaroslav Shemet’s recent and future engagements include a debut with the Polish National Opera in a new production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, final instalments of Mahler’s symphony cycle with the Silesian Philharmonic, and a debut with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Warsaw Autumn Festival.
