One of the most talented and sought-after emerging Polish conductors, Jakub Chrenowicz  has successfully worked with all the key orchestras in Poland including Warsaw Philharmonic, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Sinfonia Varsovia, Poznań Philharmonic  as well as the Polish National Opera. Former conducting student of Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and assistant conductor to Antoni Wit  at the Warsaw Philharmonic, he made conducting debuts in Europe with the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin  and the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.

Since the 2017/18 season Jakub Chrenowicz holds the position of Chief Conductor of the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra  in Poland.

Antoni Wit conducts Japanese premier with Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra

Antoni Wit returns to work with Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra  this week where he will conduct Japanese premier of Osaka-born contemporary composer Dai Fujikura. The new piece Solaris Suite will be performed in two concerts on February 22 and 23 at Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater, The Concert Hall. The programme will also feature Dvorak’s Violin Concerto with the acclaimed German soloist Veronika Eberle and Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5. For more details, see HERE

Antoni Wit celebrates 75th birthday conducting Lutosławski and Karłowicz

Maestro Wit  returns to his former orchestra National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice to conduct a special anniversary concert on 7 February. The concert programme linked to 110th year since Karłowicz’s premature death in the Tatra mountains will feature his “Rebirth” Symphony. At the brand new NOSPR concert hall, Antoni Wit will be joined by the renowned Canadian pianist Louis Lortie performing Lutosławski’s Piano Concerto, which will mark the 25th anniversary of the composer death. Wit recorded both works on Naxos Records as part of the complete works cycle by Lutosławski and Karłowicz.

Antoni Wit conducts Sofia Philharmonic in concert dedicated to 100 years of Polish Independence

On November 11th Maestro Wit will make his debut with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in all-Polish programme of Moniuszko, Karłowicz and Lutosławski. He will be joined by the award-winning young generation Polish violinist Agata Szymczewska in the Karłowicz Violin Concerto. The concert will take place at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia and will mark the 100th Anniversary of Independent Poland. For more details see here.

Antoni Wit conducts Brahms, Schubert and Bruckner on tour in Spain

Maestro Wit returns to the Orquesta Sinfonica de Navarra to conduct an all-Brahms programme in two concerts on 18th and 19th of October. He will lead Symphony No.4  as well as Concerto for Violin and Cello Op.102 with soloists Tianwa Yang and Gabriel Schwabe at Baluarte and Auditorium de Tudela.

Antoni Wit  will then travel to Malaga to work with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Malaga conducting Schubert Symphony No 3 as well as Symphony No 3 by Bruckner on 25th and 26th of October at Teatro Cervantes. For more details, please see here and here

Antoni Wit returns to Finland

Maestro Wit conducts a defiant Lutosławski Concerto for Orchestra on his return to Tampere Filharmonia  in their concert on 28 September at the magnificent Tampere Hall. Joined by the acclaimed Swedish pianist Peter Jablonski in Dohnanyi’s Variations on a Nursery Tune, Wit will fittingly open the programme with Mussorgsky Night on Bald Mountain.
