Antoni Wit makes his debut with the Norrkopings Symphony Orchestra in a live-streamed concert on 25th of March as part of the Orchestra’s digital platform concert series. Mo Wit will conduct two works by two Polish music giants of the 20th century – Krzysztof Penderecki and Witold Lutosławski – linked to Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 performed by acclaimed Swedish pianist Roland Pöntinen at De Geerhallen, Norrköping.

Together with two young exceptional guests artists Tobias Feldmann and Maximilian Hornung he will open the concerts with the Brahms Double Concerto for violin and cello which will be followed by Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony. Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliette Overture will conclude the programmes titled Ein Tropfen Liebe.
Last year Naxos Records released Antoni Wit’s latest recording featuring Brahms Concerti with young excellent soloists violinist Tianwa Yang and cellist Gabriel Schwabe with the Deutsches Symfonie-Orchester Berlin, which received high critical acclaim.
In his first performance post- lockdown, Maestro Antoni Wit will conduct Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra on 6 August at the NFM Main Hall in Wrocław in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki -Zdrój. Jakub Chrenowicz will make his first appearance with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra conducting Beethoven Symphony No 8 in the subscription concert of the orchestra’s summer season in Opava on 27 August this year. Mo Chrenowicz will be joined by the charismatic soloist Spanish Pablo Barragán in the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto. The performance at the superb acoustic of St. Wenceslas Church of Opava will open with Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture.
The recording of the acclaimed Royal Festival Hall performance of Penderecki’s Violin Concerto No 1 with Barnabas Kelemen and the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Michał Dworzyński is released on the Orchestra’s own label on 28 of February this year. Paired significantly with a concert recording of Mo Krzysztof Penderecki conducting the London Philharmonic in his own works, the CD occupies a special place among LPO unique releases.

Jakub Chrenowicz will lead the opening concert of the 20th European Music Festival in Sofia with the Classic FM Radio Orchestra and renowned Bulgarian pianist Ludmil Angelov as soloist. Their all-Polish programme will be presented at the Bulgaria Concert Hall on 25 March and will feature a wide range of Chopin’s works for piano and orchestra. Rarely performed Karol Kurpiński’s Overture will open the concert.
Maestro Antoni Wit conducts all-French programme on his first return this year to the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra. In two concerts on 26 & 27 March at Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona, Antoni Wit will present orchestral works of 20th century masters from Ravel through Debussy and Faure to Albert Roussel.
Jakub Chrenowicz returns to Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct 20th century French, Russian and Polish works as part of the Orchestra’s Musica Ars Amanda series. The programme of his concert on 24 April will include Debussy’s L’apres midi, Stravinsky’s Ebony Concerto (with soloist Michał Poniżnik), Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet Suite No 2 and Szymanowski’s Symphony No 4 Concertante with Polish soloist and Szymanowski’s specialist pianist Marek Szlezer.
Antoni Wit conducts two concerts with the Prague Symphony Orchestra at the Prague’s Municipal House on 15 & 16 January. Mo Wit’s Czech-Polish programme at Smetana Hall will open with Vítězslav Novák’s symphonic poem In the Tatra Mountains and conclude with Witold Lutoslawski’s defiant Concerto for Orchestra. The two works will be suitably bridged by Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 performed by the renowned Czech pianist Lukáš Vondráček.
